D0nghak was the Atlanta Reign’s lone rookie on the team. He was side by side with role stars and players who had won many awards. As a young main tank he was going toe to toe with the likes of Fearless and Smurf who both had won a Grand Final. Less than a year ago he was on Team 815, a Korean contenders team who went 0-7. He has shown massive growth in the League.

He was supporting the whole team with the defense that is needed but enabling the offense to pop off.

When receiving the award, D0nghak multiple times voices his regret. He didn’t feel deserving of this award. He wanted to bring a good performance and felt like he hadn’t these playoffs. He mentioned that this should be a happy moment but he could only feel bad for not performing to the level he wanted for the fans. This was personally meaningful for him as this award was given to him by the fans.

The whole award ceremony was more quiet than in the past. But the fans made sure to show D0nghak love by cheering extra loud as well as reassuring him that he did in fact deserve the Alarm Rookie of the Year award.

D0nghak was the rookie alongside star. Although he felt undeserving so this award, he has proven that he is also a rising star of this league. Hopefully he can continue this journey in the Overwatch League, so the next award he may receive he can truly feel deserving of it.
