Deadlock’s development continues to progress rapidly into 2026, with leaks and rumors about the game’s next step swirling, including a new leak about a potential PvE addition to the game. According to a leaker, it is heavily inspired by Risk of Rain.

Deadlock PvE Development Leaked

Deadlock is reportedly working on a new PvE game mode that is “1:1 Risk of Rain,” according to a recent post from reputable Deadlock leaker and news source, minesweeper.

According to minesweeper, this is still in the early development stage and is still a work in progress. But, as it stands, players would “kill waves of mobs to get money, use that money to open boxes & get items, and then when you’re strong enough you can do the shrine,” according to the post.

This was shared without any in-game images, so the claims should be taken with a grain of salt. However, minesweeper has proven a reliable source in the past, so these claims are worth keeping an eye on at the very least.

I also claimed in a recent video that PvE was something Deadlock fans should expect in 2026, as this sort of addition lines up with other rumors and leaks we have covered over the past few weeks.

This also lines up with developers from Risk of Rain coming over to Valve to work on Deadlock, a move that has been speculated and discussed at length by the Deadlock community.
