When founder Alex Tan was competing in the Malaysian poker circuit in the early 2010s, he noticed a persistent problem: the strategy resources available to Malaysian players were almost entirely written for Western audiences. They assumed casino conditions that did not exist at Genting Highlands, recommended strategies that were suboptimal under Malaysian rule variants, and were often mathematically incorrect.

After a decade of playing and researching, Alex founded CardGuide MY in January 2022 to fill this gap. The goal was straightforward: build the most accurate, most Malaysia-specific card game strategy resource in the country .

Today, CardGuide MY publishes strategy guides covering poker, blackjack, baccarat, mahjong, and more — all written by experienced Malaysian players, all verified against real Malaysian casino conditions, and all grounded in mathematical analysis rather than folklore or guesswork.

Every strategy recommendation is derived from probability theory and expected value analysis. We show our working, not just our conclusions.

All guides are verified against Malaysian casino conditions, including Genting Highlands rule variants and local online platform settings.

We are not owned by or affiliated with any casino operator. Our recommendations are based solely on mathematical analysis and player experience.
